A childhood passion for animals turned into a
profession for Decatur veterinarian Jason Hutcheson. A rebellious
act led to his specialty.
"I came in one day wearing a green snake around my neck. My mother
practically beat it off of me," Hutcheson said. "Dogs, cats she was
fine with those. Snakes were the forbidden pet."

As part of The Epstein School's enhancements of its exciting
"hands-on" Science program in the elementary school, classrooms now
have all kinds of interesting and exotic pets. Recently, the
Elementary School's new pets had a visit from an Avian and Exotic

Mimi Shepherd Selected to be On-Site Veterinarian at
Bird Fairs
Mimi Shepherd, the only avian certified veterinarian inside the
perimeter, has been chosen by Tim Vogel's Bird Fairs to be the vet
on-site for health and sexing during the bird fairs for 2007. Mimi
Shepherd has previously been the vet on-site for 2006, 2005, and
2004. |
